I met Rockie on the radio tour for "Lipstick" when he and the regional from Universal South visited the station I was programming at the time.  I was not only impressed with his music, but his passion as he played it for me.  After listening to some of his music, the three of us went out to lunch.  I've met a lot of up and coming country artists, but Rockie is definitely one of the nicest, and most intelligent people I've been able to spend time with.

He came to the station again in December 2007 to promote "I Can't Believe It's Me."  This time, I interviewed him on the air, and we had a blast in the studio!  He has a wacky sense of humor - definitely a good quality!

Rockie brought his band to town the following summer to do a show for my listeners.  I was so excited planning that event, but as luck would have it, I was let go two days before the show.  I'll never forget how kind Rockie and Susan were to me that weekend and a few weeks later when I spent some time with them in Nashville.  Both of them and their entire band and crew have been great friends, and I am truly blessed to have them in my life!

I have since moved on to a new job programming a station in Charlottesville and life is good, but I will always remember how Rockie helped me get through a very difficult time.

Thank you for sharing your story.  Rockie definitely is one of a kind isn't he?  I'm glad things worked out for you and you found a new job.

Lisa,

I enjoyed reading your story.  I know you went through some very rough and uncertain times, yet everything has worked out to this end, where you are in Charlotte.  Praise God.   Thank you for sharing with us.  I hope all continues to work out in all you do!!

It's amazing how Rockie -- whether known or unknown to him -- has helped so many people though rough times and good times alike.
